Theodore S. Modrzejewski, 85, of Hamilton
HAMILTON >> Theodore S. Modrzejewski, 85, of East Lake Road, formerly of Clinton, N.Y., passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y.
He was born July 26, 1931 in Nanticoke, Pa., son of Stephen and Jennie Blek Modrzejewski. While working for the State of New York Theodore met and married his wife, Grace H. Salai on April 27, 1957 in Nicholson, Pa.
Ted became a labor relations field representative for the Civil Service Employees Association, working out of Utica, N.Y. until retiring in 1991. During that time he served as Village Justice in Clinton, N.Y. and later after retirement served as Town Justice in the Town of Madison, N.Y., maintaining a membership in the NYS Magistrates Association.
Ted could always tell a good story. He had a passion for fishing, traveling, golfing and enjoyed attending his grandson’s many activities.
Surviving him is his wife, Grace, as well as his son, Theodore and wife Dondi Modrzejewski of Edmunds, Wash.; a daughter, Theresa and husband Howard Rice of Vernon Center, N.Y.; a sister, Irene Thomas of Wanamie, Pa. and grandson, Howard Alexander Rice of Denver, Colo. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Modrzejewski.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Crouse Hospital for their compassionate care during his stay.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2017 at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton, N.Y.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Monday from 4- 6 p.m. prior to the service.
Interment will be private at a later date in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hamilton, N.Y.
