Heather L. Bonham, 40, of Rome

ROME >> Heather L. (Johnson) Bonham, 40, of Rome passed away peacefully Thursday evening April 13, 2017 at Crouse Hospital with her loving family at her side after a valiant battle with breast cancer.

Heather was born in Oneida, N.Y. on Feb. 12, 1977 a daughter of Robert E. and Donalyn (Chirillo) Johnson and was raised in Sherrill, N.Y. She was a graduate of VVS class of 1995, Herkimer County Community College and received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from SUNY Polytechnic Institute.

Heather was employed by Lutheran Care at Clinton Manor.

For those who knew her she was a free spirited individual, who craved adventure and loved a challenge. Always maintaining a positive attitude in anything life threw at her, except flying, she hated flying. Most importantly she loved her family and friends more than words can express, especially her children.

Surviving are her two beloved children, Mariah A. Johnson and Cassius Bonham; her parents, Robert E. and Donalyn Johnson; two sisters, April Johnson and companion Frank Caporale, Valerie and Stephen Gorski; two nephews, Jared Johnson and Cameron Gorski; maternal grandmother, Rose Chirillo; her forever person Scott Krueger; many close friends and her dog, Mojo.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 3-7 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 464 Sherrill Road, Sherrill, N.Y. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. immediately following calling hours at the funeral home. Burial will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Valley View Cemetery, 1776 Middle Road, Oneida, N.Y.
