Josefine Phillips, 96, of Oneida
ONEIDA>> Josefine Phillips, 96, West Elm Street, died Sunday, April 9, 2017, in the Katherine Lutheran Home, Clinton, where she had been a resident for the past seven weeks.
Born in Turkheim, Germany, on Dec. 24, 1920, she was the daughter of Karl and Maria Prestele Lutz. A resident of Oneida for the past 70 years, Josefine was educated in Germany. She married Theodore J. “Ted” Phillips in Kaufbeureun, Germany on Aug. 9, 1947. Mr. Phillips died on Dec. 7, 2001.
Mrs. Phillips was selfemployed for many years, as a sales representative with Avon. She was a member of the Plymouth Alliance Church.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Ernest Butler of Oneida; her two sons and daughters-in-law, Herbert K. and Katherine “Kitsy” Phillips and Randolph J. and Martha Phillips, all of Oneida; her four grandchildren, Stephanie and her husband, Steve Mahler, Scott Phillips and his wife, Ashley, Sarah Phillips and Andrew Phillips; six greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held 9:30 a.m., Saturday, May 6, 2017, from the Plymouth Alliance Church, Sherrill, with the Rev. Kurt Johnson, pastor, officiating. Interment will be made in Valley View Cemetery. There are no hours of visitation. Contributions, in her memory, may be made to the Missions at Plymouth Alliance Church, 169 Kinsley St., Sherrill, N.Y. 13461. Arrangements are under the direction of the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida.
