ONEIDA, N.Y. >> A parolee is back behind bars after a search of his hotel room on Genesee Street by Oneida City Police revealed large quantities of crack cocaine and marijuana.

On Monday, April 17, uniformed and investigative members of the OPD assisted the New York State Parole as they performed a search of parolee Oscar Davis’ room at the Super 8 Mo- tel in the City of Oneida. During the search, police seized nearly 76.1 grams of crack cocaine - estimated street value of $7,600 - and 501.8 grams of marijuana - estimated street value of $4,000. In addition to the drugs, investigators also seized more than $2,000 in cash.

Stemming from the Monday search, Davis was arrested on an arrest warrant issued from Oneida City Court charging him with the following offenses:

•Third-degree possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony;

•Fourth- degree possession of a controlled substance, a class C felony;

•Second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a class D felony; •Criminal use of drug paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor;

•Seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor; •Marijuana possession. Davis was arraigned in Oneida City Court and was held at Madsion County Jail without bail.

In addition to the New York State Parole, the OPD was assisted by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office K-9 units. Monday is not Davis’ first run-in with the OPD. In 2012, when Davis was 27, the OPD arrested the former North Lake Street resident for growing marijuana plants in an apartment on Lenox Avenue.
