Behold, God will make all things new

- Catherine Galasso-Vigorito

Last week, I went for a walk with my neighbor, and she told me about a news report she had heard on a television station. It was about a two-year-old girl who walked outside her home. Yet, accidently, in an instant, the little girl fell into the family pool. I gasped as my neighbor continued the story.

The girl’s mother was in the house at the time. But soon began frantically look- ing for the child. Over five minutes later, the mother found the little girl floating on the water in the pool. Her small body was unresponsive.

In desperation and trembling, the mother called for medical assistance. The mother was completely numb with shock. Within minutes, the fire department, the police and rescue team came to help. Eyes full of tears, the reality of the situation hit the mother like a ton of bricks. And the girl was rushed to the hospital.

For more than 90 minutes, the doctors performed CPR on the lifeless child. They tried repeatedly to get her heart going again. Nonetheless, the little girl’s heart would not beat on its own. The doctors repeated their efforts over and over. Nothing happened. They kept on trying. But the girl was unresponsive. Heartbroken, they confirmed her death.

However, an hour later, a miracle happened. The heart of the little girl, who was declared dead, began beating. She breathed again. Her life was once again renewed. And the girl recovered.

Within weeks, the completely healthy little girl returned to a normal life. Amazed, the experts couldn’t explain this divine miracle.

Something may have happened in your life that caused you to think your hopes and dreams for the future are gone. But, don’t quit, for like this little girl, miracles happen. Remem- ber, God is close to the brokenhearted. And right now, He is close to you. God has seen every injustice. He will repair your broken heart, and rest assured He will “restore double to you.” (Zechariah 9:12).

Thus, let the past be the past. Get your hopes up again. Get your dreams back. A new beginning is in store for you. Pray, as God can make all things new. For God is gently whispering to you today: “Don’t give up; tell your heart to beat again…”

•Have you been hurt? God will make all things new, so tell your heart to: Beat again.

•Did you experience a setback? God will make all things new, so tell your heart to: Beat again.

•Have you encountered a loss? God will make all things new, so tell your heart to: Beat again.

•Did someone deceive you? God will make all things new, so tell your heart to: Beat again.

•Do you have to start over? God will make all things new, so tell your heart to: Beat again.
