Laura L. Snyder, 93, of Chittenango

CHITTENANGO >> Laura L. Snyder, 93, of 6941 Bolivar Road, Chittenango, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at the Oneida Healthcare Extended Care Facility, following a brief illness.

She was born on Dec. 13, 1923, in Stockbridge, the daughter of the late Lee Skellham Sr. and Ruth (Janes) Skellham.

Laura spent her early years in the Stockbridge and Oneida area, attending the Oneida schools. She has lived in Chittenango since 1953.

She married Raymond L. Snyder Sr. on Feb. 8, 1948, in Canastota. Ray passed away on Oct. 3, 1981.

Laura retired from Thermold Plastics in Manlius, after working there for several years. She had previously worked for Smith-Lee Manufacturing in Oneida.

She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving are: four sons and three daughtersin-law, Raymond L. Snyder Jr. of Chittenango, Allen and Dorrie Snyder, and Kevin and Peggy Snyder, all of Canastota, and Scott and Tracey Snyder of Chittenango; nine grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Laura was predeceased by a grandson, Todd Snyder; a brother, Lee Skellham Jr.; and a sister, Helen Thurston.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Charlie F. Vollmer will officiate. At Laura’s request, there will be no calling hours. Burial will be in Lenox Rural Cemetery, Canastota. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James St., Canastota. In her memory, contributions may be made to The Village of Chittenango Creek Walk and Neighborhood Trail System, 222 Genesee St., Chittenango, N.Y. 13037.
