BOUCKVILLE >> Edward J. Tallman, 60, Cole Street, died Saturday morning, May 13, 2017, in the Oneida Healthcare Center, shortly after his admission.

Born in Oneida, on March 29, 1957, he was a son of Francis and Mary Upfold Tallman Sr. and was raised by his foster parents, James and Frieda Nourse. A resident of Bouckville for the past 16 years, Ed was a graduate of Morrisvill­e-Eaton High School, Class of 1975. He married Susan Ball in Morrisvill­e on July 21, 1990.

At the time of his death, Ed was employed with Birnie Bus Service, Inc., at its Hamilton office and had previously been employed with Green Acres Farm from 1984 to 2015. He was a member of the Madison Fire Department and the department’s fire police, which made him very proud that by taking all the classes earned him the New York State Fire Police designatio­n and patch. Ed enjoyed working on small engines, going to auctions and listening to country music.

Surviving besides his wife, Susan, are his two sons, Billy (Karen) Ball of Canastota and Eddie Tallman of Las Vegas, Nev.; three sisters, Marylou Gardner of Camden, Shirley Tallman of Perryville and Roseann (Fred) Bavo of Oneida; three brothers, Francis Tallman Jr. of Utica, Ronald Tallman Sr. of Wampsville and Jack Sprinkler of Hamilton; a special four legged buddy, Jax; three special friends who were like sons to him, Steve Berry, Andy Berry and Steve Nolan; six grandchild­ren and many nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by a sister, Margaret Skellingto­n and two brothers, Donald Tallman and Michael Tallman.

Funeral services will be held privately and there will be no public visitation. Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida.
