SHERRILL>> Eleanor (Marge) King, age 87, a resident of Noyes Manor for over 30 years passed away peacefully Saturday morning May 13, 2017 in the Oneida Healthcare Extended Care Facility where she was presently residing.

She was born on Dec. 18, 1929 in Oneida, N.Y. a daughter of the late Frank L. and Lillian M. (Fairchild) Gifford and was a graduate of Sherrill High School.

On June 27, 1957 Marge and Bernard King were united in marriage in Oneida, N.Y. and shared that loving union of over 26 years together until Mr. King’s death on Dec. 10, 1983.

Her membership included the Plymouth Alliance Church of Sherrill where she served as a deacon; she was also a member of the C.A.C. of Sherrill and the American Legion Post 230 Auxiliary. While residing at Noyes Manor Marge received a 25 Year Appreciati­on Award for her dedication and service to the residents at Manor and was one of the kindest persons you could ever meet.

Surviving are several cousins, including Stella (James) Sarandrea of Amsterdam; a half-brother, Leslie “Les” Pace of Tulsa, Okla. and her longtime friends at Noyes Manor.

In keeping with Marge’s wishes there will be no public calling hours or funeral services. A celebratio­n of Marge’s life will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in the Community Room of Noyes Manor, 600 W. Hinds Ave., Sherrill, N.Y.
