Antique June Show on its way
MADISON-BOUCKVILLE ANTIQUE CORRIDOR >> After a winter of preparation, the nearly 200 local and nationwide vendors participating in the sixth annual Madison-Bouckville June Show will bring out their best wares for the season kickoff event.
Whether a longtime picker, or someone new to the hobby, the June Show is a great way to share the thrill of antiques and collectibles buying and selling that has made that region famous across the country.
“It gives the novice and/or experienced antiquer an opportunity to experience the excitement in our antique community,” said Darlene Virgil of Canal House Antiques, one of the many participating shops.
The June Show runs from June 2-4, hosted by a variety of
shops and showfields on and around Route 20 from Bouckville to Madison. It offers a true “buyer’s market” of antiques and collectibles, as those dealers will sell their latest and greatest items to buyers from across the New York State and beyond.
Vendors will offer all kinds of antiques and collectibles, from vintage furniture, home furnishings, old-time tools, and Petroliana, to sporting goods, records, musical instruments, trains, and dolls, plus all sorts of rar- ities likely not to be found anywhere else. There are also a variety of food vendors up and down the road to help shoppers revitalize in their quest for the perfect purchase.
It’s a great way to welcome the summer for both vendors and shoppers, said Scott Hummer of the Cherry Valley Antique Barn.
“It’s the first big event of the season,” he explained. “It really kicks things off for us.”
The June Show runs June 2-4 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and admission is free. For more information on any upcoming Madison-Bouckville antique events, visit: www.madisonbouckville.com.
