Sarah E. Moon of Chittenango was inducted into the St. Lawrence University chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership honor society. Moon is a member of the Class of 2019 and is majoring in mathematics and economics. Moon attended Chittenango Senior High School.
Naza re t h Col l ege awarded the Community Service Award to Emily Mroczek of Cazenovia during the recent President’s Civic Engagement Awards ceremony. The Community Service Award recognizes students who have demonstrated a commitment to service, either to the Nazareth College community or the greater community at large.

Marleah M. Roseman of Canastota received a bachelor of science in mathematics.
Kristina B. Kleine of Cazenovia received a bachelor of science in social work
Elizabeth M. Hodge of Madison received a bachelor of science in communication - public relations.
Elizabeth M. Church-Peters of Wampsville received a bachelor of science in communication - audio/ radio.
Elizabeth M. Church-Peters of Wampsville received a bachelor of arts in theatre arts.
Canastota native Brianna Schiedo, an occupational therapy major in Ithaca College’s School of Health Sciences and Human Performance, was inducted into the Alpha Eta honor society. Founded in 1975, The Alpha Eta National Honor Society recognizes and promotes significant scholarship, leadership, and contributions to the Allied Health professions at collegiate institutions.
Chloe Kovitz of Cazenovia was named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester at Harding University in Searcy, Ark. Kovitz is a graphic design major.
Nearly 140 SUNY Oneonta students presented original research and creative projects at the college’s 2017 Student Research and Creative Activity Day on April 12. The following area students were among the presenters:
Heidi Gorton of Morrisville worked with Florian Reyda of the Department of Biology on a project titled “Parasite Party: Full of Necropsies of Yellow Perch from Canadarago Lake.”
Alana White of Oneida worked with Jiang Tan of the Department of Secondary Education and Educational Technology on a project titled “The Effect of High-Tech versus Low-Tech Makerspaces on Fourth Grade Science Students.”
