Bag ban removes choice

-

There shouldn’t be any debate over bag banning. The people who want them should be able to get them at the store and if you’re anti-bag, don’t get any, but don’t force the rest of us to conform to what you want. Freedom of choice works both ways. A few people who know little of the problems they will be causing have no right to take away others’ choices.

Of course we can always shop in Oneida County, a much larger county that doesn’t feel the need to ban bags, the same goes for Onondaga County. Why is that? Many of us Madison County taxpayers use and reuse the store bags and as for the breakdown time, you should be more concerned with the waste from our nuke plants which takes hundreds possibly thousands of years to start to break down and it’s dangerous to everyone and everything on earth.

We’re asking the Dispatch to print the names of those who insist on making some people’s lives even more difficult, so we can cast our votes accordingly. Every year it’s the same tax and tax and spend. Madison County needs an overhaul. What are the people in this county getting for their tax dollars? Do we deserve to know more about the millions being given to a supervisor and is it ethical and legal?

Reusable bags are not a problem in Madison County but over taxing on a regular basis is, we need tax relief now! Mayor Matzke, what’s your opinion? Arthur and Helga Closson,

Oneida
