John H. Coulter Jr., 83, of Ft. Lauderdale, Flor.

FT. LAUDERDALE, FLOR. » John H. Coulter, Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, passed away peacefully on Feb. 1, 2017, at the age of 83.

Born April 1, 1933 to John H. Coulter and Beatrice Fidel Coulter in Canastota. John attended Manlius Military Prep School and Storm King High School. He was a graduate at Pennsylvan­ia Military College, graduating in 1955 as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army.

He was honorably discharged from the Reserves as a 1st Lieutenant in 1964. John was past president of Sky High Farms in Chittenang­o, where he enjoyed working with his three sons until he retired in 1997.

During his profession­al career, he was a board member of State Bank of Chittenang­o, President of the Empire State Potato Club, a member of the Oneida Jaycee’s, the CNY Economic Advisory Council, Tri Valley Lodge #148 Masons and a member of the First Presbyteri­an Church in Oneida. John’s greatest joy was spending time with his fam- ily whom he adored.

John is survived by the love of his life for fifty-nine years, Matilda Ruby Coulter; his sons, John (Susan) Coulter of Central Square, Bradford (Bonnie) Coulter of Kirkville and Christophe­r (Amy) Coulter of Oneida; seven grandchild­ren, John S. Coulter Jr., Sara (Joe) Mauro, Jessica, Brad Jr., William, Jeffrey and Grace Coulter; and two great-granddaugh­ters, Posey and Pasley Coulter. John was predecease­d by his parents John and Beatrice Coulter and a grandson, Paul Coulter.

Friends may call at the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida, on Saturday, July 1, 2017, from 1- 4 p.m. with a reception directly after calling hours at the Oneida Elks Lodge, 191 Main St., Oneida.
