Betty J. Panzica, 74, of Oneida

ONEIDA » Betty Jane Panzica, 74, a life-long resident of the Canastota/ Oneida area, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side, on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at the Presbyterian Home, New Hartford, N.Y., where she had been a resident for the past two and a half years.

She was born on Sept. 5, 1942 in Canastota, N.Y. to the late Fannie (Rinaldo) and Samuel G. Patane. She was a graduate of Canastota High School and retired on Aug. 1, 2001 from Defense Finance & Accounting Center, Griffiss Air Force Base after 32 years.

She married the love of her life, David A. Panzica, on July 3, 1965. They spent many of their retirement years wintering in Brooksville, Fla.

Betty loved spending time with her grandchildren, shopping, crafts, and especially creating floral arrangements.

In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her sister, Rose Ann Yeman and her brother-in-law, Budd Yeman.

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, David; her daughters, Niki Panzica and her husband, Timber Rooney, Lynette Serianni and her husband, Sam; three grandchildren, Adam Phillips, Colin Serianni and Bailee Serianni, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call Sunday, June 25 from 4-7 p.m. at the Coolican-Mc Sweeney Funeral Home, 322 Washington Ave., Oneida, N.Y. 13421. Funeral Mass will be on Monday, June 26 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 121 St. Joseph Place, Oneida, N.Y., with the Rev. Richard Kapral officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fairview Avenue, Oneida.
