STITTVILLE/ONEIDA » Michael P. Coffin, 65, of Stittville and formerly of Oneida, passed away unexpected­ly on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 with his loving family by his side.

He was born on Jan. 31, 1952 in Utica, he is the son of the late Sherwood and Oda Moon Coffin. Mike faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corp and was a member of the Sherrill American Legion Post 230. He was an avid bowler and was a member of several leagues. He also enjoyed horse shoes, wood working, play- ing cards, and darts. Mike was socially dynamic and loved spending time with his family and friends. He also cherished his time spent with the Saturday Night Pit Crew.

Mike is survived by 2 daughters, Sonya and Jeff Ellinger of Stittville and Amber Coffin and Billy Smith of Barneveld; 7 cherished grandchild­ren, Carissa, Seaira, Seth, Craig, Cindy, Calliegh, and Aiden; a great granddaugh­ter, Lilyana “Piskadiddl­ehopper;” four sisters, Eunice and Peter Doroshenko, Linda Blinn, Pamela Fletcher, and Brenda McGrath and Ronald Tarry; four brothers, Duane and Norma Coffin, Edward and Peggy Coffin, Stephen and Christine Coffin, and Kevin and Deborah Coffin; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his longtime girlfriend, Sheila Walker who passed away in 2015 and is survived by her 4 children, Stacy and Paul, Jamie, Paul, Amy and Trevor; and 9 grandchild­ren, Raelynn, Emily, Elizabeth, Allison, Cole, Noelle, Cristian, Olivia, and Danika.

Mike was also preceded in death by a brother, Sherwood Coffin, Jr. and a sister, Deborah Coffin.

In keeping with Mike’s wishes, he will be cremated. A graveside service will be held for family and friends on Sunday, July 9th at 2:00 p.m. in Floyd Cemetery.

The family would like you to join them for A Celebratio­n of Life gathering at the Stittville VFW on Olin Rd. following the cemetery services, in lieu of flowers.
