Grace A. Shortell, 74, of North Bay

NORTHBAY » Grace Argento Shortell, 74, of North Bay, passed away unexpected­ly on Monday, July 3, 2017, with her loving family at her side.

She was born on Aug. 10, 1942, in Utica, a daughter of Marco and Anna Clawson Argento. She was a graduate of Proctor High School, Class of 1961. Grace was a postal clerk of the United States Postal Service in Sylvan Beach for 27 years.

She was a member of the Vienna United Methodist Church and was the director of the Food Bank of CNY at the Vienna United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Oneida County Democratic Committee and the Vienna Historical Society. Grace was an avid bowler and enjoyed gardening. She loved caring for her feline companions.

Surviving are two daughters, Margo (Chris) Shiomos, of Fayettevil­le, and Tracy Shortell, of Syracuse; three sisters, Edna Hobbie, of Whitesboro, Geraldine (Harold) Holmes, of Sylvan Beach, and Anna Marie (Vincenzo) Policino, of Florida; a brother, Gerald (Jackie) Raspante, of Utica; three granddaugh­ters, Willa, Eden, and Cleo Shiomos; a longtime companion, Mel Deeley, of North Bay; several nieces and nephews; and numerous dear extended family and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, July 7, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the Vienna United Methodist Church where the Rev. Marsha A. Madore will officiate. There are no calling hours.
