ONEIDA CASTLE » Richard C. Hadley, 78, of Seneca Avenue, passed away on June 29, 2017, in the Oneida Healthcare Center where he had been admitted two days earlier.

Born in Oneida on July 12, 1938, he was a son of Charles R. and Eva C. Follett Hadley. A lifelong resident of the area, Richard was a graduate of Oneida High School.

Mr. Hadley was em- ployed by Ray’s Service in Oneida and was a retired veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and various Masonic Lodges within New York where he held many different offices and positions, including former Grand Master.

Surviving are several cousins. He was predecease­d by a brother, Charles V. Hadley on May 10, 2010.

On 9:30 a.m., Sunday, July 30, 2017, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, commendati­on prayers will be offered as part of the Sunday service, with the Rev. Nick Smith, officiatin­g. Interment will be made in Stockbridg­e Cemetery on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 1 p.m. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flow- ers, please consider contributi­ons to St. John’s Episcopal Church, 341 Main St., Oneida, or to a charity of one’s choice.
