VERONA » William A. Rolewicz, 76, of Verona, passed away Tuesday evening, Aug. 8, 2017, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Oneida Healthcare on June 6, 1941, the son of the late Henry and Mary Bandroski Rolewicz. A lifelong resident of the area, William was educated in Vernon-Verona-Sherrill schools. On Sept. 20, 1964, he married Sarah A. Marriott in West Winfield. She passed away on Oct. 23, 2011.

William was employed by the Oneida County DPW for 31 years before retiring in 2005. He is survived by two daughters, Mary Rolewicz and her boyfriend, John Trudeau of Verona and Debbie Rolewicz Verona; a son, Richard Rolewicz of Verona; 11 grandchild­ren, Amanda Smith, Michael Rolewicz, Tonya Rolewicz-Sibley Nicholas Sibley, Anthony Clinch, Stephen Faniglula, Travis and Alyssa Morak, Tyler and Mikayla Havener, and Hermie Havener; 11 great-grandchild­ren, Lauryn, Taylor, and Alexis Faniglula, Blake Rolewicz, Ellie Mae and Sam Smith, Jadelyn Phillips, Takoda and Nakiah Sibley, Peyton and Liana Morak; brothers and sisters, Mary Havener, Betty Harrison, Larry and Bonnie Rolewicz; several nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Nellie Frost, Wanda Semeraro, Helen Kelly, Grace Nolan, Edwin Marriott, and Stanley Marriott. William was predecease­d by a daughter, Sara Lynn Rolewicz Sreca; a sister, Joyce Rolewicz; a grandson, Alan Clinch; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Irish Ridge Cemetery in Durhamvill­e. Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m.
