Guest pas­tor at Union Chapel

SYL­VAN BEACH » The Rev. Robert Wol­laber of Morn­ing Star United Methodist Church, Ilion will be guest pas­tor at the Syl­van Beach Union Chapel on Sun­day, Sept. 3 at 10 a.m. The chapel, lo­cated on Park Av­enue, was built in 1887 as a non-de­nom­i­na­tional house of wor­ship. Take out din­ner set for Sept. 9

ONEIDA » St. John’s Epis­co­pal Church will hold a ham and scal­loped po­tato din­ner on Sept. 9 from noon to 4 p.m. at the church, 341 Main St. The meal is take out only. Tick­ets are $10 for adults, $9 for se­niors and $5 for chil­dren 12 and younger. Tick­ets for a queen size quilt raf­fle will be avail­able for $1 each or six for $5. Pro­ceeds will ben­e­fit the church’s Prayer Quilt Guild.

Ven­dors needed for tag sale

CHIT­TE­NANGO » St. Paul’s Church is look­ing for ven­dors, peo­ple with home based busi­ness or some­one look­ing to sell those items they have no need for any­more. The church’s An­nual Tag Sale is set for Satur­day, Sept. 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. In­door spa­ces are avail­able for $15 – the church will sup­ply ta­bles and chairs. Chicken and bis­cuits served Sept. 21

WESTMORELAND » Westmoreland United Methodist Church will hold a chicken and bis­cuit din­ner on Thurs­day, Sept. 21 be­gin­ning at 4:30 p.m. at the church, Main Street. The menu will in­clude chicken in gravy, bis­cuits, mashed pota­toes, veg­eta­bles, dessert and bev­er­ages served buf­fet style. Take- outs will be avail­able. Tick­ets are $10 for adults, $5 for chil­dren 5-12 and free for ages 4 and younger. Take outs will be avail­able.

Golf tour­na­ment will ben­e­fit med­i­cal mis­sion

ONEIDA » The 6th An­nual Golf Tour­na­ment for the Nicaragua Med­i­cal Mis­sion will take place Fri­day, Sept. 22 at Kanon Val­ley Coun­try Club. Reg­is­tra­tion is at 11 a.m. with lunch at 11:30 a.m. fol­lowed by a 12:30 p.m. shot­gun start. The fee of $90 per per­son in­cludes lunch, cart and green fees, and din­ner. There will be prizes for Team Best Score, Long­est Drive, and Clos­est to the Pin. All pro­ceeds will pro­vide med­i­ca­tions for the next Med­i­cal Mis­sion.

Rum­mage and bake sale slated for Sept. 8-9

ONEIDA » New Hope Chris­tian Com­mu­nity Church will hold a rum­mage and bake sale on Fri­day, Sept. 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a bag sale on Satur­day, Sept. 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Do­na­tions can be brought to the church, 1904 West Road, be­gin­ning Aug. 28.

Su­per Jam 2017 planned for Sept. 10

SYL­VAN BEACH » The Su­per Jam 2017 fundraiser will be held on Sun­day, Sept. 10 from 2- 6 p.m. at Har­poon Ed­die’s on Park Av­enue, to sup­port the Rais­ing the Roof Fund and other restora­tion projects for Syl­van Beach Union Chapel. Mu­si­cians will in­clude Mark Bo­los, Dale Brown, CATO, Bernie Clarke, Dave DeSan­tis, Skosh Fearon, Joe Ferlo, Liz Friedel, Rick Kim­ball, Lisa Mur­phy, Ju­liane Price and Aaron Scott. There will be raf­fles and for a $5 do­na­tion, at­ten­dees can ring the chapel’s bell. Do­na­tions for the “Rais­ing the Roof Fund” may be mailed to: Syl­van Beach Union Chapel, P.O. Se­nior min­istry of­fered Wed­nes­days

VERONA » St. Peter’s Lutheran Church will hold a Chris­tian Min­istry for Se­niors each Wednes- day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, 4897 Old Oneida Road. There will be cof­fee and con­ver­sa­tion, Bi­ble study, and at 10:30 a.m. a spe­cial pro­gram will be held. There will also be ex­er­cise and lunch at noon.

Friend­ship Inn open each Thurs­day

MOR­RISVILLE » Friend­ship Inn at St. Joan of Arc Church of­fers a free weekly meal to the Mor­risville com­mu­nity ev­ery Thurs­day from 5- 6:30 p.m. Non-de­nom­i­na­tional and open to all, re­gard­less of fi­nan­cial need, Friend­ship Inn draws on a small army of vol­un­teers who ful­fill nu­mer­ous tasks, from setup, cook­ing, serv­ing, to clean-up. Vol­un­teers are al­ways needed. Do­na­tions are wel­come as well to sup­ple­ment food of­fer­ings and to pur­chase equip­ment and sup­plies. Cloth­ing do­na­tions ac­cepted at St. John’s Church

ONEIDA » St. John’s Epis­co­pal Church, 341 Main St., has been cho­sen by St. Pauly Tex­tile, Inc. as a repos­i­tory for used cloth­ing. St. Pauly’s mis­sion is to pro­vide wear­able cloth­ing to peo­ple who need it, both in the United States and Third World coun­tries. Items that can be col­lected in­clude cloth­ing, shoes, sneak­ers, belts, purses, li­nens, blan­kets, cur­tains and stuffed toys. No rags or fab­ric scraps, pil­lows, toys or house­hold goods are ac­cepted. Do­na­tions are not cut up or shred­ded. Items should be placed in plas­tic bags (no larger than 13 gal. size) and placed in the chute of the shed lo­cated on St. John’s drive­way. Do­na­tions are ac­cept­able any time of the day or night. This mis­sion has pro­vided more than 30 mil­lion gar­ments to peo­ple all over the world who are in need.
