220th anniversary celebration

VERONA » Verona United Methodist Church will hold a garage sale and luncheon Sept. 15 and 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., during this year’s Town of Verona Garage Sale Days. Proceeds will benefit the Town of Verona Food Pantry.

Catholic Daughters start newseason Sept. 19

ONEIDA » Members of Court Our Lady No. 1250, Catholic Daughters of America will begin the new season by attending Mass on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. in St. Joseph’s Church. The Mass will honor the deceased members as well as bless the living members of the court. All members are urged to attend the Mass and the “Meet and Greet” wine and cheese social afterward in the parish center. Women from local parishes are invited to join members for refreshments and fellowship after Mass. A short business meeting for the members will follow the social to launch the program for the coming year. Refreshment chairpersons are Tutti Wagner and Mary Reiter.

Chicken and biscuits served Sept. 21

WESTMORELAND » Westmoreland United Meth- odist Church will hold a chicken and biscuit dinner on Thursday, Sept. 21 beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the church, Main Street. Dollar Deals Brunch set for Sept. 21

The theme will be “Dollar Deals” featuring quality items at $1 each. Golf tournament will benefit medicalmission

ONEIDA » The 6th Annual Golf Tournament for the Nicaragua Medical Mission will take place Friday, Sept. 22 at Kanon Valley Country Club. Registration is at 11 a.m. with lunch at 11:30 a.m. followed by a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start. The fee of $90 per person includes lunch, cart and green fees, and dinner. There will be prizes for Team Best Score, Longest Drive, and Closest to the Pin. All proceeds will provide medications for the next Medical Mission.

UTICA » The 35th Family Rosary Crusade for Peace will be held Sunday, Oct. 1 at St. Joseph/St. Patrick Church, 702 Columbia St. Guest speaker is the Rev. Ken Geraci of Divine Mercy Fathers. Fall HarvestDinner planned

UTICA » Uarda Temple No. 24, Daughters of the Nile will hold a Fall Harvest Dinner and Bazaar on Sunday, Oct. 1 from 12-2 p.m. at Utica Masonic Hall, 251 Genesee St., second floor. Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for children 5-12 and free for ages 4 and younger. The menu will include roast pork, dressing, potatoes, vegetable, applesauce, roll, beverage and homemade pies. Take outs will be available. The event will also feature a basket raffle. Proceeds will benefit the group’s General Fund.

Senior ministry offered Wednesdays

VERONA » St. Peter’s Lutheran Church will hold a Christian Ministry for Seniors each Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, 4897 Old Oneida Road. There will be coffee and conversation, Bible study, and at 10:30 a.m. a special program will be held. There will also be exercise and lunch at noon.
