Candidates forum tonight at the Kallet

There will be a Q&A with candidates for Madison County sheriff, clerk, and contested Oneida seats.

ONEIDA, N.Y. » Candidates for Madison County sheriff, clerk, and contested seats in Oneida will gather in the city tonight for a question and answer forum at the Kallet Civic Center from 7-9 p.m.

The evening will begin with Undersheri­ff John Ball and Todd Hood as they take questions about the Madison County sheriff’s race. Ball is running as a Democrat and Hood as a Republi- can and Conservati­ve.

County clerk candidates Ann Jones, a Democrat, and Michael Keville, a Republican and Conservati­ve, will follow.

Oneida supervisor candidates will speak next. Republican Mary Cavanagh, Republican incumbent John Reinhardt, and Democrat appointee Margaret Milman-Barris will discuss thei r candidacie­s for Wards 1-3. Republican Tom Boylan, Democrat incumbent Lewis Carinci, and Democrat incumbent Joe Magliocca will discuss their candidacie­s for Wards 4-6.

Democrat incumbent Leo Matzke and Republican challenger Gary Reisman will speak next for Oneida mayor.

Councilor candidates will round out the night. Democrat James Coulthart and Conservati­ve Jason Tiffin are competing for Ward 3; Republican incumbent Tom Simchik and Democrat Don Moore are competing for Ward 6. Republican Joseph Zifchock, who is running for Ward 3, will not be at the forum due to scheduling conflicts.

The evening will end with a meet-and-greet.
