Robert B. Campbell, 60, of Verona Beach

VERONA BEACH » Robert B. Campbell, 60, Cove Road, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, in Westcheste­r Medical Center, Valhalla, while visiting the area with his family.

Born in Oneida, on Nov. 14, 1956, he was a son of Llewellyn R. “Nick” and Anne Johnson Campbell. A lifelong resident of the area, Bob was a graduate of Oneida High School and the Modern Welding School in Schenectad­y. He married Sarah J. Cross in Sylvan Beach, on Sept. 15, 1979.

Bob was employed with Airgas of Syracuse, as a welding process specialist, owned and operated with his son, Vantage Welding and was an instructor of welding at Madison-Oneida BOCES. He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Verona Beach, the Camden Cycle Riders and the TC Riders Snowmobile Club. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycli­ng, boating, working with his son, his daily visits with his daughter, his dogs, and every night watching the sunsets. Throughout the Beach, Bob was known to everyone and knew everyone.

Surviving besides his wife, Sarah, are his daughter and her husband, Maryanne E. Campbell and Andrew Howe of Verona Beach; his son, Brian L. Campbell and his companion, Serena Becker of Verona Beach; his “honorary” daughter Amy Soriano of Ithaca; his three sisters and two brothersin-law, Sharon Di Gennaro of Vian, Okla., Katherine and Thomas Van Riper of Munnsville and Gail and Reed Preston of Camden; his brother, Paul and Suzanne Campbell of Sherrill; several nieces and nephews and his grandpuppi­es. He was predecease­d by a sister, Jacqueline Seibert and a brother, James Campbell.

Recounting his love and friendship for all, Bob would be known as saying “Leave them laughing!”

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Sunday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida. Friends may call at the funeral home, 1-5 p.m., Saturday. Contributi­ons, in his memory, may be made to Wanderers Rest Humane Associatio­n, Box 535, Canastota, N.Y. 13032.
