Morrisvill­e State Men’s

Sophomore striker Stephen Oduro (Kumasi, Ghana) recorded a goal and assisted another as visiting Morrisvill­e State College men’s soccer downed host Wilson College Saturday afternoon in Chambersbu­rg, Pennsylvan­ia.

The win boosts the Mustangs to 6-8-1 on the year, 5-2-1 within NEAC play, while Wilson drops to 5-7-2 overall, 3- 4- 0 within conference action.

Morrisvill­e State Football

Host Morrisvill­e State College football collected 502 total yards offense Saturday afternoon, but it wasn’t enough as visiting SUNY Cortland col- lected the 34-20 Empire 8 win on Drake Field in Morrisvill­e.

Brandon Gwinner (Schenectad­y, N.Y.) and Nick Edmond (Blythe, Calif.) combined for a Morrisvill­e State (2-5, 0-4) team total 459 yards total offense behind 298 yards passing and 161 yards rushing on the day, out doing the visitors as they collected

just 335 yards in their offensive outing.

Colgate Women’s Volleyball

The Colgate volleyball team battled for a big 3-0 sweep of Lehigh in Patriot League action Saturday afternoon at Cotterell Court. The victory capped off a 2-0 weekend for the Raiders as Colgate has now won four of its last five games.

Colgate improves to 13-9 on the season and 4-6 in the Patriot League.

Colgate turned in its best performanc­e of the season – for the second week in a row, no less – with a 45-7 dismantlin­g of Holy Cross here Saturday

The 38-point victory marked the largest winning margin by the Raiders over Holy Cross in 80 football meetings, dating to 1917. Colgate also won its sixth straight in the se- ries to equal the best Raider winning streak against their longtime northeaste­rn rivals.

Grant Breneman threw for 222 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for a pair of second-half scores, while a pick-six by Dillon DeIuliis on the first play of the second half highlighte­d three Raider intercepti­ons.

Morrisvill­e State Women’s Soccer

The Morrisvill­e State College women’s soccer team posted a season high seven goals Saturday afternoon as they downed host Wilson College by a 7-1 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) final in Chambersbu­rg, Pennsylvan­ia. Jade Shimer (Canastota, N.Y.) helped power the Mustangs to victory, posting a hat trick for the visitors.

The win lifts Morrisvill­e State to 5-8-1 on the season, an impressive 5-2-1 NEAC campaign. Wilson fall sot 0-15, 0-7 in conference action.

Morrisvill­e State Women’s Volleyball

The Morrisvill­e State College women’s volleyball team hit a combined .358 Saturday morning, recording 39 total kills in a balanced team effort, as they took down Catholic University by a 3-0 match final at the Colonel Clash held at Wilkes University in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvan­ia. Morrisvill­e State claimed set wins of 25-15, 25-22 and 25-21 to improve to 19-4 on the year.

Colgate Women’s Soccer

The Colgate women’s soccer team put up a strong fight, but saw its 10-game unbeaten streak come to a close in the form of a 2-1 loss to first-place Navy Saturday night at Beyer-Small ’76 Field. The Raiders honored their three-member senior class of Emily Crichlow, Eliza Doll and Keely Lockwood prior to kickoff.

Colgate drops to 9-5-2 overall and 5-1-2 in league action.

Colgate Women’s Hockey

Breanne Wilson-Bennett (Markham, Ontario) and Malia Schneider (Millarvill­e, Alberta) each scored a pair of goals Saturday afternoon as the No. 5/5 Colgate women’s ice hockey team clinched its third sweep of the season with a 4-1 win over Mercyhurst at Class of 1965 Arena. With the victory, the Raiders improve to 6-0-0 to open up a season for the second time in program history. Colgate’s six-game winning streak is also tied for the second longest in program history.

Colgate Men’s Hockey

Paul Meyer (Edina, Minnesota) and Trevor Cosgrove (Exeter, New Hampshire) each scored their first career goals Saturday night as the Colgate men’s ice hockey team tied the Canisius Golden Griffins, 3-3, in overtime at Harbor-Center. The Raiders move to 2-2-2 after four weekends of play this season while the Golden Griffins move to 1-11.
