Janet L. Wojdyla, 82, of Sherrill

SHERRILL » Janet L. Wojdyla, age 82, a longtime resident of Kinsley Street and more recently of Fultz Drive passed away peacefully early Friday morning, Oct. 27, 2017 in the Oneida Healthcare Center.

She was born on Aug. 31, 1935 in Rome, N.Y. a daughter of the late John and Neva (Felts) Lunn and was a graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic School of Rome.

On Sept. 22, 1956 Janet and John T. Wojdyla were united in marriage at St. Mary’s Church of Rome and shared that union of over 57 years together.

Prior to her retirement in 1989 Janet was employed in the business office of New York Telephone Company.

Janet was a communican­t of St. Helena’s Catholic Church of Sherrill. She enjoyed spending time with her family and entertaini­ng with her husband at their home in Sherrill. Her happiest times were spent with her grandchild­ren who brought her much joy.

Surviving are her two daughters and two sons-inlaw, Lee (Allan) Farrell and Lynn (Tim) Barber; five beloved grandchild­ren, Holly Farrell, Jill and Laura Wojdyla, Tim and Allison Barber; brotherin-law, Robert Howlett; sister-inlaw and brother-inlaw, Shirley (Norm) Denney; two brothers-in-law and one sisterin-law, Dick (Mackey) Wojdyla and Robert Wojdyla, as well as several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Janet was predecease­d by her husband, John; son, Mark; brothers, John (Jack) Lunn, Bill Lunn, and sister, Nancy Howlett.

The family would like to express a thank you to the staff at the Oneida Healthcare ECF, the Oneida Healthcare Center staff and Janet’s special in home companions.

Private calling hours will be held at the family’s convenienc­e. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Oct. 30, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Helena’s Church, Primo Avenue, Sherrill, N.Y. Burial will follow in St. Helena’s Cemetery, Oneida, N.Y. In memory of Janet donations may be sent to St. Helena’s Church. Arrangemen­ts are with the Malecki Funeral Home of Sherrill.
