Vote Clancy for legislator

Please vote for Mike Clancy for our County Legislator in the 4th District.

We have known Mike for a long time and we have seen how dedicated he is to his job as our legislator and how hard he fights to defend both Rome and Verona. He has been involved in our community for many, many years as Little League president, Babe Ruth treasurer, a member of the Citizen’s Advisory Board at VVS and as Verona Volunteer Fire Department’s treasurer. For 10 years we have been fortunate to have him represent us in the County Legislature.

A few of the things that I know he has done include getting Main Street Verona and Route 50 New London finally paved, talked Rome DPW into donating several loads of milling to New London VFD to fix their parking lot, and had Soil and Water survey Route 50 free of charge to help mitigate the f looding. Mike also obtained grants for a dry hydrant at the Fire Training Center in Verona and one to connect to Barge Canal in New London — he is still working on getting that one in.

But the most important thing he has ever done in our opinion is to fight so hard year after year to restore the $100,000 funding to the Verona Volunteer Fire Department. It gets put in, another legislator takes it out and Mike spends weeks lobbying and explaining to the other legislators why this is such a critical public safety issue. No one who lives in this area wants to have their fire department lose the funding that they need to provide adequate first responder services to our residents and visitors to our town. Without Mike we will not get this funding, period.

So please, take a few minutes out on Tuesday, Nov. 7 to cast a vote to keep being represented by someone that has done so much for us.
