Jones best choice for clerk

After reviewing the qualifications of both candidates for County Clerk, I have arrived at the conclusion that Ann Jones is the most appropriate candidate for this position.

She is again seeking this position after an unsuccessful contest against an opponent. Her current opponent won his election after running unopposed. To me this demonstrates her strong interest in serving this county and would assure she will fulfill her obligations for the entire term of office.

She has experience serving on several boards, and is part of operating a family farm.

She has volunteered for many community organizations without receiving a penny for that service, contributing to the improvement of our communities.

A university trained former teacher, she has volunteered in the schools in a variety of roles, which helped students, and has applied her professional skills to other community organizations.

The Village of Chittenango has a village administrator who formulates the budget for the board of trustees which approves the spending plan. The mayor is merely a member of that committee. Ms. Jones, through her experience on several boards that have budgetary oversight, has that same experience.

I want a clerk who is dedicated to the people of our county, who has announced ideas to improve the already excellent services provided by the County Clerk’s Office and who fulfills the duties in an honest, legal and ethical manner.

Ann Jones is that person. I urge you to vote for her for Madison County Clerk.
