Marjorie C. Orcutt, 86, of Oneida Castle
ONEIDA » Marjorie C. Orcutt, 86, of Oneida Castle, passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2017 at Oneida Healthcare Center.
She was born on June 1, 1931 in Watertown, N.Y., a daughter of Augustus and Myrtle Connell Kane.
She married Myles Orcutt May 12, 1969, which was a union that lasted until his death in 2006.
She was employed at KWR Cable as a bookkeeper in Oneida and then later worked as a teacher’s aide at Madison-Oneida BOCES.
Marjorie loved sewing and gardening and belonged to many organizations: Sherrill Legion Post No. 230 Auxiliary, Lady Owls Nest No. 2210, and Durhamville Vets Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, Marjorie was predeceased by a son, Michael Haines; two brothers, Lawrence and Robert Kane; and two sisters, Patricia Sixt and Sally Brouse.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara and Richard Desormo of Watertown, and three stepchildren, Jon Orcutt of Stockbridge, Terri and Larry Muse of Georgia, and Nancy Orcutt. She is also survived by four grandchildren, three great-granddaughters and five greatgreat grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; along with special friends Debbie Donaldson of Oneida and Cassandra Bolen of Canastota.
Per her request, there will be no hours of public visitation.
Arrangements are being handled by Coolican-McSweeney Funeral Home, Oneida.
