Carinci a true community representative

-

To the voters of Wards 4, 5 and 6: It has been a great honor and pleasure to serve and represent you over the last 10 years. When reelected, I will strive to work towards providing the community with the services we deserve.

One major goal I have for the 2018-2020 term is to keep our tax rate low. I have been involved with major county budget projects and finding ways to improve the safety and well-being of all Madison County citizens. My childhood and adult life has been spent on West Elm Street, right here in Oneida. Growing up and raising my children here has provided me with the opportunity to be a part of a great neighborhood and community.

I have spent countless years volunteering, from sports to the Literacy Coalition. I have a true passion for helping others. Recently I changed my career and have become a teacher at OCM BOCES in their Adult Education Program. There, I amable to give back to my welding profession and ensure these individuals receive the education and training necessary to be successful. I serve as the president of Wanderers’ Rest Humane Association. We not only help pets with overall care and finding their forever homes, but we help individuals in need with our foodbank for pets. Additionally, we have coat drives every year to support our local community members. This year, we worked hand-in-hand with Liberty Resources to hold a successful event at Carinci Park that included a coat drive/ drop off.

I have also served as vice chairman of Criminal Justice Committee in social and public health for eight years, along with serving on many other boards and committees. Previously, I have been endorsed by the Democratic, Independent, Conservative, and Working Family parties, and No Party Affiliation. My votes have never been based on party line, but on what is best for my constituents in Oneida. That is something that will never change!

As supervisors we have worked diligently to make sure Oneida is made whole again with loss of property taxes from the Oneida Indian Nation. I discovered an additional $2.25 million that is now being given to Madison County in lieu of being a host county. I will continue to ensure this money is distributed fairly to the City of Oneida to counteract the loss of tax revenue from the buyout in the Flats. During my next term, I will also focus on our veterans, through organizations such as Clear Path for Veterans to provide them with the resources they need. Currently I am working towards finding a way to provide Clear Path with a van for transportation, and I would also would like to look into getting free legal services for our veterans.

As always, my passion for helping others will be my sole purpose for running for office and once again representing you, the citizens of Oneida. Thank you for 10 great years and I am looking forward to two more! Remember, vote Lewis Carinci for Supervisor 4, 5 and 6.
