ONEIDA » Dorothy E. Dibble, 86, formerly of 208 E. Sands St., Oneida, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, at Faxton- St. Luke’s Healthcare after being transferre­d from the Lutheran Home where she was residing since January 2017.

She was born on Nov. 9, 1930, in Providence, R.I., a daughter of Francis and Bertha Gilbert Willis. She was a graduate of St. Patrick’s Academy in Providence, R.I.

On April 15, 1961, Dorothy was united in marriage to Orville J. “Ike” Dibble in Providence, R.I. Ike passed away on Sept. 4, 2014.

Dorothy was employed by Madison- Oneida BOCES as an audio-visual librarian for ten years, retiring in 1988. She then was a volunteer librarian and aide at St. Patrick’s Elementary School.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and their Altar and Rosary Society, a collection counter and in charge of the Prayer Line at St. Patrick’s, amember of the Catholic Daughters, and the St. Joe’s Senior Travel Group.

Dorothy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchild­ren who just loved grandma’s homemade cookies especially snickerdoo­dles, chocolate chip and butterscot­ch. She always looked forward to having family dinners together.

Surviving are her children, Robert Joseph (Eileen) Dibble, of King George, Va., Michael F. (Katherine “Beth”) Dibble, of Montross, Va., Kathleen (Raymond) O’Brien, of Boonville, and Timothy G. (Ann) Dibble, of Oneida; a brother, Richard (Jeanne) Willis, of University Park, Fla.; 11 grandchild­ren, Thomas Dibble (fiancé, Katie This dell), Molly ( Walker) Schutze, Joshua (Kaytlyn) Dibble, Karley (Stephen) Ruxton, Megan O’Brien (David Kane), Kelly (William) Sturdy, Duncan O’Brien, Cameron O’Brien, Dylan Dibble, Brandon Dibble, and Steven Dibble; four great-grandchild­ren, Adam, Elliott, Klara, and Julian Dibble; in-laws, Charles (Dixie) Dibble, of Independen­ce, Mo., Alice Havener, of Oneida, Mary Sasenbury, of Ava, Evelyn Waite, of Lemon Valley, Nev., and Delma (Richard) Felker, of Sparks, Nev.; and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predecease­d by her parents, husband and two sisters, Sara Kelly and Carol Barney, and two brothers, Gilbert Willis and Clifford Willis.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, beginning with a Prayer Service at 10:30 a.m. at the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc., followed by her Funeral Mass at St. Patrick’s Church, 347 Main St., Oneida, at 11 a.m. where the Rev. Richard J. Kapral will officiate. Interment will take place in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home, 342 Main St., Oneida.
