ONEIDA » Richard L. Miller, 66, of South Willow Street , passed away Nov. 2, 2017. Hewas born June 15, 1951 in Oneida, N.Y., a son of Leo and Helen Vreeland Miller and was a 1969 graduate of Canastota High School. Rick was a fun loving, quick witted and cleverly sarcastic personalit­y. Music played an integral part in Rick’s life. He worked with the Moss Back Mule Band as their front sound engineer for many years. For a span of over 20 years he was a sales representa­tive for the Nye Ford dealership­s in both Oneida and Alaska. He returned to the music/entertainm­ent industry just over 15 years ago working for the JANCO, Ltd, a specialize­d transporta­tion company for the music and entertainm­ent industry thus incorporat­ing his love for music into his career.

A loving father, grandfathe­r, nephew, cousin and friend, he is survived by his daughter, Denyel Miller, Pittsburg, Pa.; grandchild­ren, Ariel and Trent Leabo and Cole Morgan, Camden, N.Y.; a brother, Scott and Marlayne Miller, Oneida; an aunt, Marilyn Miller, Camden, N.Y. and three cousins, Jeff and Christine Baker, Atlanta, Ga., Sheril Bloss and Tom Baker, both of Oneida, N.Y. He was previously married to the former Yvonne Gerow.

A Celebratio­n of Life will be held 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017 from the Abundant Life Community Church, Camden, N.Y with a calling hour to be held prior to the service at the church, 86 Mexico St. As an additional tribute to Rick, the Moss Back Mule Band will be playing at the Goodlife Tavern at 7:30 p.m. Saturday evening.
