Fantasy Fair set for Nov. 10-11
SHERRILL » Christ Church United Methodist will hold its 52nd Annual Christmas Fantasy Fair on Friday, Nov. 10 from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Christ Church is located at the corner of Noyes Boulevard and Park Street. An elevator is located at the Park Street entrance. There will be Antiques & Collectibles, Christmas & Fall Decorations, Fresh Bakery & Canned Goods, Children’s Toys & Clothing and Crafts & Needlework items. All crafts and food are homemade by church members and friends. On Friday evening, slices of homemade pie and a choice of beverage will be served for $3.50. On Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. a hot lunch will be served for $6. Children 6-12 are $3 and children 5 and under are free. All proceeds are used to support missions.
Chicken dinner will benefit medical mission
CANASTOTA » Believers’ Chapel will hold a chicken and biscuit dinner on Saturday, Nov. 11 from 4-7 p.m. at the church, 2657 Seneca Turnpike. Proceeds will benefit the Nicaragua Medical Mission. The menu will include chicken and biscuits, mashed potatoes, salad, dessert and beverage. The cost is $8 for adults, $5 for children 5-12 and free for ages 4 and younger.
Coat giveaway at First UMC
ONEIDA » Oneida First United Methodist Church’s 18th annual Coat Giveaway will be held Saturday, Nov. 11 from 9 a.m. to noon at the church, Main and Grove streets. Registration will be held at 8:45 a.m. Shopping in groups of 30 begins at 9 a.m., limited to 20 minutes per group. At 11 a.m., all are welcome to return and select coats as needed. Christmas auction planned for Nov. 14
ONEIDA » Court Our Lady Catholic Daughters No. 1250 will hold its annual Christmas Auction on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. in St. Joseph’s Church Parish Center.
Members are asked to bring new or like new items, or homemade crafts to be sold to the highest bidders. Don Mosack will serve as a special guest auctioneer. A mitten tree will be available for donations to a local parish. A social time and short business meeting will follow the auction.
Members as well as all women from area Catholic parishes are invited to come and enjoy some holiday fun, shopping and laughs along with fellowship and refreshments.
Melissa King and Kay Malone are chairing the refreshment committee assisted by Joan Hillenbrand, Marie Maphia, Gloria Miller, Chris Jacob, Maryann Mngucci, and Rita Otts.
“Amazing Prophecies” series concludes
ONEIDA » Pastor Doug Batchelor will present “The Most Amazing Prophecies,” a ten-part DVD study, each Saturday through Nov. 11 from 1-2:30 p.m. at Oneida Native American Church, 227 Loucks St. Each session provides a powerful, lifechanging message to bring participants closer to Christ. Holiday Craft Show at Verona UMC
VERONA » Verona United Methodist Church will hold its 25th annual Holiday Craft Show on Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church on Main Street. The event will feature area crafters, Christmas wreaths, pictures with Santa, antiques, white sale and a bake sale table. Lunch will be available including hot dogs, tuna and egg salad, sausage with peppers and onions, chili and vegetable soup, and homemade pie slices or whole pies to take home.
Concert will benefit food pantry
SHERRILL » Plymouth Alliance Church will host a concert by musician Ken Medema on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 3 p.m. at the church, 169 Kinsley St. Nonperishable food items for the Verona Food Pantry will be accepted in lieu of an admission fee. Small Business Saturday sale planned
CANASTOTA » The United Church of Canastota, 144 Center St. will host a Small Business Saturday Sale on Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Creative Memories, Ideal Gifts, Jewelry and Crafts, Lu- LaRoe, Linin World, Signature Home Styles, Tupperware and other vendors will have their wares on display. Bazaar, cookie walk set for Dec. 2
VERONA » Verona Presbyterian Church will hold a Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. featuring new and almost new holiday decorations and gifts, plus many local crafters. The church will also have its annual cookie walk featuring several varieties made by ladies of the church. Lunch will be available offering homemade soup and chili.
Breakfast with Santa served Dec. 16
ONEIDA » The Fidelity Assembly No. 30 of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls will host a Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 16 from 8-11 a.m. at the Masonic Lodge at 611 Stone St. Proceeds from this event will help to pay for Grand Assembly 2019. Menu includes pancakes (chocolate or cinnamon chip, plain and gluten free) scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon/sausage, and beverage for $8 adults and $4 for ages 4-12. Children younger than 4 are free. Santa will be on hand for photos. There will also be a bake sale to help the girls raise funds for their various charities and the state scholarship fund.
