The Rome Capitol Theatre will premiere “The Truth About Lies” -- a new film about the spiraling consequences of fibs.
The comedy follows the life of Gilby Smalls, who’s just been fired from his job and dumped by his girlfriend. Forced to move in with his booze-swilling, man-obsessed mother and desperate to turn things around, Gilby weaves an ever-growing web of lies to impress a beautiful woman — each one bigger than the next — and finds himself in too deep when the truth proves to be too much to admit and even harder to accept.
The film stars Odette Annable, Fran Kranz, Chris Diamantoupou- los, Mary Elizabeth Ellis and Colleen Camp. It marks the featurelength directorial debut of award-winning commercial and narrative short writer/director Phil Allocco. Allocco also penned the script and produced with Steve Carr, Isen Robbins and Aimee Schoof and Colleen Camp. Adam Horovitz, best known as “AdRock” from the pioneering hip hop group the Beastie Boys, composed the music.
The movie will screen at the Capitol Theatre on Friday, Nov. 17; Saturday, Nov. 18; Monday, Nov. 20; and Tuesday, Nov. 21.
