Melody M. Johns, 62, of Oneida
ONEIDA » Melody M. Johns, 62, of 113 N. Lake St., passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Utica, following a short illness.
She was born on Aug. 16, 1955, in Oneida, the daughter of Lyman K. and Elsie June Meacham. Melody was a graduate of Westmoreland Central Schools, Class of 1973.
Melody was the supervisor of the Bingo Hall at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino since its opening. She previously worked on the floor at the Bingo Hall at the Oneida Indian Nation.
She had a love for Bingo and her Bingo family. Melody enjoyed travelling and scrapbooking. Her true joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her five children, Edward (Kimberly) Johns, Angela (Michael) Hall, Amanda Thomas and her fiancé, George Sclavos, Daniel Thomas, Michael Thomas, all of Oneida; two brothers, Larry (Dona) Mennig, of Zephyr Hills, Fla., and Jimmy (Georgianna) Mennig, of Oneida; a sister, Dawn Cianfranno, of Rome; her longtime companion, Daniel Thomas, of Oneida; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Melody was predeceased by two brothers, Lyman “Kenny” Johns and David Johns.
