Christmas gifts for foster children

-

Madison County Department of Social Services currently has 23 children in area foster homes. It is our goal to provide each child with Christmas gifts that will make their holiday a little brighter.

Again this year we are seeking local agencies and businesses to help support the children in foster care in Madison County. We can accept monetary donations up to $75 for the Christmas and Beyond Fund. This fund is set up to purchase Christmas gifts for children, as well as pay for special activities throughout the year. I would like to extend a very sincere thank you to all of you who have given generously in the past!

Monetary donations can be sent directly to: The Madison County Department of Social Services Christmas and Beyond Fund, P.O. Box 637, Wampsville, N.Y. 13163. Please make checks payable to Madison County DSS.

We are also collecting toys and other items for children ages birth through 17 both boys and girls including books, games, inexpensive jewelry, art supplies, gifts cards, hats, mittens, scarves, pajamas, slippers, socks and underwear for all ages. No toy guns, please. This is just a list of ideas; as always, any gifts will be accepted. It is helpful to receive donations before Dec. 8 so gifts can be distributed in a timely fashion.

Arrangements can be made to pick up gifts by contacting us at (315) 366-2548 or donations can be dropped off at the De- partment of Social Services in Wampsville. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.

Thank you for your kindheartedness and have a safe, peaceful and happy holiday season! Theresa Snyder and Alan Hall,
