Thanksgiving crafts in Hamilton

Monday, Nov. 20 at 3:30 p.m. Thanksgiving Craft. Celebrate gratitude and togetherness (and good food, too!) and a simple craft activity for ages 3 and older. Snacks will be provided by the Friends of the Library.
Free movies
At the Canastota Public Library, 102 W. Center St., the movie on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 5 p.m. is “Bay Watch” starring Dwayne Johnson and friends. In this movie based on the television series, a dangerous crime wave hits the beach. Mitch Buchannon (Johnson) leads his elite squad of lifeguards on a mission to prove that you don’t have to wear a badge to save the day. The movie also stars Zac Efron and even Pamela Anderson makes an appearance. This movie is rated R.
The Wednesday 1 p.m. matinee at Sullivan Free Library, Chittenango on Nov. 22 will be “The Secret Scripture,” rated PG-13 and running 108 minutes. It stars Rooney Mara, Vanessa Redgrave and Eric Bana. The story is about an Irish woman who is released from a mental hospital after 50 years.
Thanksgiving break
A Thanksgiving Break Zoo Camp will be held Wednesday and Friday, Nov. 22 and 24 from
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse.
Campers will tour the zoo, see animals close up, play games, make crafts and enjoy a pizza party lunch. The cost is $65 per child per day; advance registration required.
Turkey Trot
Oneida High School will hold a Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk on Thursday, Nov. 23 beginning at 9 a.m. at the school, Registration will be held from 7:45-8:45 a.m. The cost is $10 and two cans of non-perishable food items. A one-mile fun run will also be held, along with a costume contest. All proceeds will benefit the Oneida Food Pantry and Oneida All Sports Booster.
Accepting applications
U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency has announced that Madison County is approved to accept applications for the Emergency Conservation Program (ECP) for damages from excessive rain and flooding that occurred July 1-2, 2017. Sign up will be held through Nov. 24.
Approved ECP practices include removing debris, grading, shaping, and re leveling, restoring permanent fence and restoring conservation structures.
Producers who sustained damage from this disaster event are encouraged to submit their request for assistance prior to beginning reconstructive work. Submitting a request after completing qualified reconstructive work may result in forfeiture of program eligibility.
Conservation concerns that were present on the land prior to the disaster are not eligible for ECP assistance.

St. Patrick’s School in Oneida is taking orders for balsam Christmas wreaths from Hroboni’s Greenhouse. Costs are: 20” wreath, $20; 24” wreath, $25; 30” wreath, $30; 36” wreath, $40; 48” wreath, $85; 24” cross, $40. Community Art Guild
The Community Art Guild, which is made up of local residents, meets at the Sherrill Community Activity Center on Tuesday mornings.

Festival of Trees
Celebrate the season with a visit to one of CNY’s most treasured holiday events.
