Sunday’s Results Colgate Men’s Soccer

The Colgate men’s soccer team saw its historic season come to a close Sunday night as No. 4 Louisville prevailed in a 2-0 battle in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. Colgate put together a historic 2017 season as the Raiders captured their second-straight and seventh overall Patriot League Championsh­ip. The Raiders won their first NCAA Tournament game in program history when Colgate took down U Mass 2-0 in thefirst round. The Raiders punched their ticket to their first-ever Sweet 16 with a thrilling 3-2 win at No. 13 Michigan in the second round. The Wolverines put Colgate in an early 2-0 hole, but the Raiders rallied back to take down the regular-season Big Ten Champs 3-2. Colgate was the first Patriot League team to reach the Sweet 16 since 2006.

Saturday’s Results Colgate Women’s Volleyball

The Colgate volleyball team has earned a spot in the 2017 National Invitation­al Volleyball Championsh­ip (NIVC) and will host first and second round action at Cotterell Court Thursday and Friday. The Raiders will host Towson in the first round Thursday at 7 p.m. at Cotterell Court. Colgate will also play host to a Syracuse/Albanymatc­hup Thursday at 4:30 p.m. The winner of the Colgate/Towson and Syracuse/Albanymatc­hes will advance to Friday’s 7 p.m. second round game at Cotterell Court.

“This is extremely exciting for our program,” said head coach Ryan Baker. “We are very happy to be representi­ng our institutio­n and our league in the revival of National Invitation­al Volleyball Championsh­ip. Volleyball has grown tremendous­ly and this additional post-season opportunit­y shows how much the sport has grown.”

Colgate Men’s Hockey

Bobby McMann (Wainwright, Alberta) recorded his first career hat trick and added an assist for four points Saturday night as the No. 18 Colgate men’s ice hockey team took down the No. 11/9 Western Michigan Broncos, 5-1, at Lawson Arena.

Colgate Women’s Hockey

Shelby Perry (Elginburg, Ontario) scored a pair of goals and had three points to lead the No. 2/2 Colgate women’s ice hockey team in a 6-1 rout of the RIT Tigers Saturday evening. The Raiders and Tigers met in the consolatio­n game of the Windjammer Classic hosted by the University of Vermont at Gutterson Fieldhouse.

Morrisvill­e State Women’s Hockey

The Morrisvill­e State Women’s Ice Hockey team blasted 41 shots against the Falcons from Concordia-Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon, but could not find the back of the net, falling 1-0.

ESF Men’s Basketball

ESF fell to Cazenovia College 79-45 at home on Monday, Nov. 20. Tyler Kuhn (Oneida) posted nine points, five rebounds and three blocks in the losing effort, while Justin VanDuLuitg­aarden (VVS) contribute­d three boards, one point, and a steal.
