Col­gate put to­gether a his­toric 2017sea­son as they cap­tured their sec­ond-straight Pa­triot League Cham­pi­onship.

Sun­day’s Re­sults Col­gate Men’s Soc­cer

The Col­gate men’s soc­cer team saw its his­toric sea­son come to a close Sun­day night as No. 4 Louisville pre­vailed in a 2-0 battle in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tour­na­ment. Col­gate put to­gether a his­toric 2017 sea­son as the Raiders cap­tured their sec­ond-straight and sev­enth over­all Pa­triot League Cham­pi­onship. The Raiders won their first NCAA Tour­na­ment game in pro­gram his­tory when Col­gate took down U Mass 2-0 in the­first round. The Raiders punched their ticket to their first-ever Sweet 16 with a thrilling 3-2 win at No. 13 Michi­gan in the sec­ond round. The Wolver­ines put Col­gate in an early 2-0 hole, but the Raiders ral­lied back to take down the reg­u­lar-sea­son Big Ten Champs 3-2. Col­gate was the first Pa­triot League team to reach the Sweet 16 since 2006.

Satur­day’s Re­sults Col­gate Women’s Vol­ley­ball

The Col­gate vol­ley­ball team has earned a spot in the 2017 Na­tional In­vi­ta­tional Vol­ley­ball Cham­pi­onship (NIVC) and will host first and sec­ond round ac­tion at Cot­terell Court Thurs­day and Fri­day. The Raiders will host Tow­son in the first round Thurs­day at 7 p.m. at Cot­terell Court. Col­gate will also play host to a Syra­cuse/Al­bany­matchup Thurs­day at 4:30 p.m. The win­ner of the Col­gate/Tow­son and Syra­cuse/Al­bany­matches will ad­vance to Fri­day’s 7 p.m. sec­ond round game at Cot­terell Court.

“This is ex­tremely ex­cit­ing for our pro­gram,” said head coach Ryan Baker. “We are very happy to be rep­re­sent­ing our in­sti­tu­tion and our league in the re­vival of Na­tional In­vi­ta­tional Vol­ley­ball Cham­pi­onship. Vol­ley­ball has grown tremen­dously and this ad­di­tional post-sea­son op­por­tu­nity shows how much the sport has grown.”

Col­gate Men’s Hockey

Bobby McMann (Wain­wright, Al­berta) recorded his first ca­reer hat trick and added an as­sist for four points Satur­day night as the No. 18 Col­gate men’s ice hockey team took down the No. 11/9 Western Michi­gan Bron­cos, 5-1, at Law­son Arena.

Col­gate Women’s Hockey

Shelby Perry (El­gin­burg, On­tario) scored a pair of goals and had three points to lead the No. 2/2 Col­gate women’s ice hockey team in a 6-1 rout of the RIT Tigers Satur­day evening. The Raiders and Tigers met in the con­so­la­tion game of the Wind­jam­mer Clas­sic hosted by the Univer­sity of Ver­mont at Gut­ter­son Field­house.

Mor­risville State Women’s Hockey

The Mor­risville State Women’s Ice Hockey team blasted 41 shots against the Fal­cons from Con­cor­dia-Wis­con­sin on Satur­day af­ter­noon, but could not find the back of the net, fall­ing 1-0.

ESF Men’s Bas­ket­ball

ESF fell to Cazen­ovia College 79-45 at home on Mon­day, Nov. 20. Tyler Kuhn (Oneida) posted nine points, five re­bounds and three blocks in the los­ing ef­fort, while Justin VanDuLuit­gaar­den (VVS) con­trib­uted three boards, one point, and a steal.
