Personal finance course begins Jan. 13

ONEIDA » Students in grades 9-12 can get a leg up on money matters and financial planning with a free six-session minicourse at Oneida Public Library called Foundation­s in Personal Finance on the second Saturday of each month, January through June, at 12 p.m. The curriculum, devised by financial guru Dave Ramsey, presents lessons in financial literacy for beginners through filmed lectures with financial experts and personal workbooks, given free of charge to registered students. Topics include budgeting, saving, debt, consumer awareness, bargain shopping, careers, charitable donations and taxes. The first session will be held in the library’s Meeting Room on Saturday, Jan. 13. Students must preregiste­r by signing up at the OPL check-out desk or by calling (315) 3633050.
