ONEIDA >> James J. Adle, 70, Lake Road, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse, where he had been a medical patient for the past 10 days. Born in Oneida, on April 29, 1947, he was a son of Eugene and Mary Darling Adle. A lifelong resident of Oneida, Jim was a graduate of Oneida High School, Class of 1965 and Morrisvill­e College, Class of 1967. He married Jacqueline Cheeseman in St. Paul’s Church, Oneida on May 18, 1968. Prior to his retirement, Jim was employed with Herb Philipson’s Stores and previously owned and operated Adle Farms and was a land developer in Cazenovia and Constantia, and also assisted his wife with the creation and sales of Christmas wreaths and roping. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, enjoyed hunting, fishing, especially with his two grandsons, carving wooden duck decoys, which were awarded blue ribbons, reading history books and his Canadian trip to hunt caribou. Surviving besides his wife, Jacqueline, are his daughter and her companion, Amanda Adle and Chip Roman of Vernon Center; his two grandsons, Christophe­r and Casey Roman; his sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Jack Berardi of Liverpool; and several nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by a daughter, Kelly A. Adle on March 31, 2000 and a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Diane Adle. Services will be held at the convenienc­e of the family.
