ONEIDA 42, HOMER 37 » Julianna Cavanagh’s double-double performanc­e against Homer gave Oneida the boost it needed for the road win over Homer. Cavanagh finished with a gamehigh 18 points and 10 rebounds. Ella Rainbow had 10 points and Sydney Lusher had 9 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. Anna Hood pulled down 9 rebounds. Oneida hosts Camden on Tuesday for Senior Night at 7 p.m. POLAND 37, HAMILTON 32 » Poland edged Hamilton on Friday behind a game-high 20 points from Jennifer Sergott. Hamilton’s Beth Belanger matched Sergott with 10 points of her own, but Hamilton fell just short, losing 37-32.

Boys Volleyball

CANASTOTA3, LITTLEFALL­S 0» Canastota cruised to its 12th win in a row with a (25-8, 25-14, 25-10) 3-0 win over Little Falls on Friday. Ian Torkelson led the way on the Canastota attack with nine kills, followed by Jake Rogers with five. Sam Cesario posted 11 assists for the Raiders in the win.

ONEIDA 3, SAUQUOIT VALLEY0 » Oneida improved to 8-2 this season with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-14) take down of Sauquoit Valley on Thursday. Michael Hood smashed 21 kills to pace the Oneida attack, while teammate Justin Holmes dished out 29 assists. Defensivel­y, Jordan Farwell and Blaine O’Moore were very active in the Oneida win, collecting 19 and 11 digs, respective­ly. CANASTOTA 3, MOUNT MARKHAM 0 » Ian Torkelson put away 15 kills to help lead Canastota its 11th straight victory in a 3- 0 win over visiting Mount Markham on Thursday. The Raiders were once again buoyed by the passing skills of Ethan Findlay and Sam Cesario, as the two setters combined for 31 assists in the 25-10, 2515, 25-19 win.

VERNON-VERONA-SHERRILL 3, WESTMORELA­ND0 » Nate Brewer put away nine kills to pace Vernon-VeronaSher­rill in a 3- 0 win over Westmorela­nd. Teammate Kyle Greene was strong at the net defensivel­y for VVS, rejecting Westmorela­nd attackers for six blocks in the 25-17, 25-19, 25-22 victory. Alex Rose’s Red Devils improve to 11-1 on the season with the win, their only blemish a 3-2 loss to league opponent Canastota.

CHITTENANG­O 3, HERKIMER 0» Griffen Smith served up six aces and struck 11 kills to pace Chittenang­o in a 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-11) victory against Herkimer on Thursday. Teammate Tim Ryder tossed out 25 assists and Jake Graham recorded 11 digs as the Bears improved to 6-3 on the season.

CENTRAL VALLEY ACADEMY 3, VERNON-VERONA-SHERRILL 2 » The Vernon-Verona- Sherrill Red Devils could not climb out of an early 2-0 hole against Central Valley Academy on Thursday. After dropping the first two games to CVA on Thursday, VVS took the third game 25-18 and then the fourth 25-21 to force a final game. CVA bounced back to take the final game 25-20 for a 3-2 win and sole possession of first place in the TVL Pioneer Division. KristiAnn Frank posted 31 digs for the Red Devils in the loss.

EAST SYRACUSE MINOA 3, ONEIDAO » ESMtook down Oneida in three straight games: 25-10, 25-16, 2624. ESM was led by a 15kill performanc­e from Aubrie Williams. Zoey Fox put away nine kills and came up with seven blocks to pace Oneida.

CHITTENANG­O3, CORTLAND 0» Tyla Cutrie and Megan Mayer showed off Chittenang­o’s firepower up front with 15 and 12 kills respective­ly in Thursday’s shutout over Cortland. Tiffany Scofield added 17 assists and Alyssa Bates came up with 10 digs for the Bears in the win, as Amy Simmons’ Bears improved to 17-2 with the 25-15, 2515, 25-13 win.

OTSELIC VALLEY 44, STOCKBRIDG­E VALLEY 26 » Otselic Valley outscored Stockbridg­e Valley 18-5 in the final quarter of Thursday’s boys basketball tilt to ensure the program’s first win in three years with a 44-26 victory. Lane Adams led the way for OV offensivel­y with 10 points. Andrew Renner paced the Cougar’s with 10 points in the loss.

WATERVILLE 55, MADISON 53 » Madison lost for just the third time all season on Thursday, falling to Waterville by two. Aiden Yager paced Waterville with 15 points, while Sam Matteson led all scorers with 17 in the loss for Madison.

MADISON 54, MCGRAW 26 » Ashley Mayne poured in a game-high 19 points in a Madison win against McGraw on Thursday. Kayla Usborne added 17 points for Payge Lehman’s Blue Devils as Madison improves to 13-5 on the year. Tied 10-10 heading into the second quarter, the Blue Devils blew the contest wide open with a 30-9 run to secure the victory.

MADISON 64, MCGRAW 53 » Colton Stone led Madison and all scorers with 24 points in a 64-53 Blue Devil victory over McGraw. Trailing by two points with a quarter left to play, Madison erupted for 24 points in the fourth to seal the win. Spencer Haviland and Sam Matteson each netted 20 points for Madison to form a potent trio with Stone in the victory.

CHITTENANG­O 3, WEEDSPORT0 » The Chittenang­o girls volleyball side got back to its winning ways on Wednesday with a three-game sweep against Weedsport. Megan Mayer posted 12 kills along with nine digs to help lead the Bears to a (25-10, 25-11, 2511) win. The win puts the Bears at 16-2 on the season with their only two blemishes coming in contests against fellow powerhouse Tully.

ONEIDA3, ROME FREEACADEM­Y 0 » Oneida took three straight games to blank RFA on Wednesday. Zoey Fox served as Oneida’s floor general with 19 assists and Jamie Jones put away 10 kills to help power the Oneida attack.

MORRISVILL­E- EATON 3, WESTMORELA­ND 0 » Emma Baker, Kim Chandler and Kendra Waltz all put away double digits kills for Morrisvill­e-Eaton on Wednesday to help fuel a Warrior win over Westmorela­nd. The M-E attack was orchestrat­ed by Emily LeBlanc with 33 assists on the night.

VERNON- VERONA- SHERRILL 3, CHITTENANG­O2 » All five games were needed. No team won consecutiv­e games. Three games went past 25. In the end, the VVS boys volleyball side came away with a 3-2 road win (26-24, 26-28, 25-14, 27-29, 15-11) over Chittenang­o in a spirited league contest. Cole Smith dug out 19 Chittenang­o shots to lead VVS’ defensive effort, while Nate Brewer put away 17 kills and Brennan Miller tossed out 29 assists to lead the Red Devil attack. TimRyder collected 30 assists and Jacob Graham posted 26 digs in the loss for Chittenang­o.
