It’s your time of favor
While cooking for our upcoming super bowl party, I recalled a story I once heard about Kurt Warner. With no National Football League teams willing to give him a chance, Warner never abandoned his dream of becoming a professional quarterback or his belief in God’s guiding Hand. Warner grew up in a small town, was from a broken home and faced many difficulties. In college, Warner wasn’t a starting quarterback until his senior year. And after graduating, he didn’t make the NFL draft. In spite of his talent, teams did not seem to want himas he watched from the sidelines.
Rejected, he felt overlooked and forgotten. Soon, he found himself stocking shelves and working in a grocery store. He wasn’t expected to do anything great in the sports world. Some people said to him, “It’s never going to work out.” But Warner persevered with courage, always hoping and endeavoring to get another try-out with an NFL team.
Through hard work, pa- tience and trust in God, Warner overcame the odds and prevailed. A few years later, Warner was a league and Super Bowl Most Valuable Player. He was on his way to an illustrious Hall of Fame career and worldwide recognition. Happily married with seven precious children, Kurt Warner put his life in God’s hands and said, “I amwhere I am, because I believed and never gave up.”
Is there something keeping you back? Perhaps, you’ve experienced difficulties, stumbling blocks or countless delays, but God isn’t necessarily saying, “No.” Possibly, He’s whispering, “Wait… your time of favor is fast approaching.”
Therefore, whatever you are believing that God can do for you, do not quit now. Remember, Scripture says, “… in due season you will reap if you don’t give up.” (Galatians 6:9)
You may have a thousand reasons why you think you can’t get out of your problems or the odds could be stacked against success. But some thoughts are not facts. Don’t jump to conclusions or exaggerate a situation without any real evidence at all. God has armed you with the strength that you need. You are “more than a conqueror.” (Romans 8:37) With God, “you’re well-able to overcome.” (Numbers 13:30) So hold tight through tough and seemingly impossible conditions and get your mind and mouth going in the right direction. As a cat watches a mouse, you must not allow yourself to dwell on any more negative thoughts. Stop thinking and speaking negativity over yourself. Focus on achievement and ponder on successful outcomes.
All through the day repeat aloud, “Something wonderful is about to happen,” “I will be victorious,” “God is good,” “The solution is on its way,” “I’m healed,” “Peace, love and joy are in my future,” “I amblessed,” “God is directing my steps,” and “I will do what I can and trust God with the rest.”
Then, get ready to reap the rewards God has in store for you. Thus, move ahead with purpose. God has a better, bigger and brighter plan for you. If you fall, pick yourself up. Get back on your feet and try again. If you hear the word “no,” try one more time. Don’t ever give up when situations are challenging, for your dreams may be closer than you think. New successes will soon materialize. For God is going to take those setbacks and turn them into significant comebacks!
A few weeks ago, I had a meeting out of town with a worldwide organization. I met with the director of one of the divisions that I had hoped to start a relationship with in the future. After just ten minutes in the meeting, the director made a suggestion. She thought I should partner with one of their top, long-running brands and move forward with their company in that capacity.
I was surprised. I didn’t see that coming. It was an unexpected blessing.
