All good things are on the way!

- Catherine GalassoVigorito

Do you sometimes think you are not making any progress? Have you been bombarded with disappointments? Or, perhaps, you feel undervalued, overlooked or forgotten.

In the Bible, I read about the life of David. In his younger years, Samuel anointed him to be king of Israel. Yet, David didn’t immediately become king after this anointing. For years, he continued to live as a shepherd boy and worked in the fields tending the sheep. David’s journey was difficult. It was not easy. He could have felt disregarded and wondered if God had passed him over. Then, David even had to face the giant, Goliath. And, he had to run for his life from King Saul and his soldiers, because King Saul was jealous of him. All the while, God was preparing David for His purpose. David waited on God, for David knew God was faithful to His promises

Finally, God’s plan for David’s life was accomplished. And at the appointed hour, David became king over all of Israel

David knew that God had a plan for his life. And God has a great plan for your life, too. So follow and wait on Him. God has not finished His work. He has not done all He wants to do for you. He’s not given you all He desires to provide.

At the right time and in the right way, there’s more… so much more ahead! Therefore, continue to have faith and trust that God is working His miraculous plan for your future.

I want to encourage you today: All good things are on the way!

Live with enthusiasm, joy and expectancy of what God can do in your life. And so, press on. Keep doing what’s right. Remember, instantaneously, God can ‘reverse’ the unfair circumstances, the losses, and the struggles. Scripture tells us in Jeremiah 33:11, “…For I will cause the captivity of the land to be ‘reversed’ and return to be as it was at first, says the Lord.” You may be down, but it is not going to last. Your time for victory is coming soon. For God will “act in behalf of the one who waits for Him.” (Isaiah 64:4). In His goodness, God is willing and able to abundantly bless you, taking you from difficulty to victories; a mess turned into a masterpiece.

•Problems will suddenly turn around.

•Windows of opportunity will swing open that were once closed shut.

•You’ll see surprising breakthroughs.

•There will be a restoration.

•You will meet new, remarkable people.

•And blessings will arise from unexpected places.

Before long, circumstances will transform wondrously in your behalf; and as you look back, you will know that without a doubt it was God’s divine hand of favor.

One of my favorite authors is the late Og Mandino. Although Mandino remains one of the most inspirational bestselling authors, with his books selling tens of millions and having been translated into over 25 different languages, what is most remarkable is the story of his rise to success.

In the summer of 1940, just before Mandino was to go off to college to major in journalism, his mother died suddenly, right before his eyes while she was in the kitchen fixing his lunch. Although his mother’s dream for

him was to be a writer, “and not just a writer— a great writer,” she would remind him, he felt that, with her death, his dreams were over.

So Mandino enlisted in the Air Force. A few years later, he returned home and moved to New York City. Buying a secondhand typewriter, he rented a small apartment and decided to try to fulfill his mother’s dream. Af- ter countless attempts and presenting his writings to over fifty magazines, no one had shown any interest in his work.

When his savings were drained, he gave up on his writing aspirations. Eventually, after scores of interviews, he was hired as an insurance agent trainee, and he married.

Soon, he became addicted to drinking and was unable to hold a job to support his young family. Finally, his wife had had enough, and she took their only child and left him. Mandino was now jobless and homeless. He drank his way across the country, doing whatever work he could find in order to survive and keep the wine flowing. He spent numerous drunken nights in gutters.

Then, one cold morning, Mandino was at the point of suicide. To stay warm, he entered a public library and soon found himself standing in front of shelves containing scores of self-help and motivational books… and the Holy Bible. He began reading and searching, asking himself, “Where had I gone wrong? Can I make it with just a high school education? Is there any hope? What about my drinking problem? Is it too late for me?”

These books inspired him so much that he was determined to release the pain from the past and turn his life around. And he did.

He remarried, had a loving family, and found tremendous career success. And carrying out his mother’s dream, Og Mandino became “a great writer,” authoring 17 books, giving speeches all over the world, and positively influencing and motivating millions to achieve true success and happiness.

During a dark time in my life, a casual acquaintance gave me one of Og Mandino’s books. Og’s words and his life story had a great impact on me and helped me to prevail over my challenges.

And as God did not forget about Og Mandino, He hasn’t forgotten you. So open the Bible and read what has been penned for you by the loving hand of your Heavenly Father:

•“[My] banner over you is love.” (Song of Solomon 2:4).

•“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” (Psalm 32:8).

•“You can do all things through [Me,] because I strengthen you.” (Philippians 4:13).

•“[I plan] to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11).

God loves you and will bestow His blessings over you in even greater portions. All good things are on the way!
