CANASTOTA >> Elizabeth R. “Tish” Buckman, 75, formerly of 400 Lamb Ave., Canastota, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at the home of her daughter. She was born on Sept. 4, 1942, in Oneida, a daughter of the late John H. and Rita (Dubois) Rice. Elizabeth lived in Oneida most of her life, graduating from Oneida High School in 1960. She later graduated from the Utica School of Commerce in 1987, with an associate’s degree in business. She has lived in Canastota for the past 20 years. She worked at Oneida Limited in Sherrill, Bruno Coin & Novelty in Canastota, and at the Durham Inn in Durhamvill­e. Elizabeth enjoyed reading, cooking, and spending time with her family, and especially playing with her great-grandson. She was of the Catholic faith. Elizabeth married Richard H. Buckman on Oct. 24, 1969, in Westmorela­nd. Richard died on July 5, 2008. Surviving are her three children, Michael Buckman and Patricia Middleton of Canastota, Marianne (Buckman) Hermann and Mark Mason of Canastota, and Richard Shawn Buckman of Syracuse: two sisters and a brother-in-law, M. Kathaleen “Cassie” and Jeffrey Colburn of Canastota, and Hannah Rice-Stone of Monroe; two grandchild­ren, Alexandra and Michael Wolfe of Killeen, Texas, and Jaycob Kilts of Canastota; one great-grandson, Timber James Wolfe; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Elizabeth was predecease­d by a sister, Fay R. Landers. Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James St., Canastota. Deacon Adolph Uryniak of St. Agatha’s Church, Canastota, will officiate. Calling hours will be held on Friday, prior to the service, from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Spring burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Oneida. In her memory, contributi­ons may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 7th North Street, Liverpool, N.Y. 13088, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
