VERNON » Upstate Independent Drum and Bugle Corps will hold its second annual Easter Basket/Meat Raffle on Sunday, March 25 from 2-5 p.m. at the Nothin’ Fancy Banquet Hall, 10 Ruth St. More than 30 Easter baskets will be raffled, along with boys and girls bicycles. ONEIDA » Oneida Public Library will be showing “Victoria and Abdul” for its Monday Movie Matinee on March 26 at 1 p.m. The Stephen Frears film stars Judi Dench as Queen Victoria and Ali Fazal as the Indian servant Abdul who became the queen’s last favorite. Coming up in April are the 2017 Academy Award winner for best film, Guillermo Del Toro’s “The Shape of Water” on April 9 and “Lady Bird” with Saoirse Ronan and Laurie Metcalf on April 23. “Unknown Museums” offered April 8
CLINTON » “Unknown Museums of Upstate New York” will be presented by Chuck D’Imperio at the Clinton Historical Society, 1 Fountain St., on Sunday, April 8, at 2 p.m. The program is free and open to the public. D’Imperio, an award-winning radio broadcaster from Oneonta, has authored nearly a dozen books about Upstate New York and gives more than 40 presentations about his books around the state annually. Budget meeting set for April 19 CANASTOTA » The Canastota Public Library Board of Trustees will hold an informational meeting about the fiscal year 2018-2019 budget on Thursday, April 19 at 7 p.m. in the library’s Carnegie Room. The budget will be $334,822, an increase of $6,565 (2 percent). The vote will be part of the Canastota Central School District budget vote on Tuesday, May 15. All County Festival set for March 24
MORRISVILLE » The Madison County Spring All County Music Festival will be held Saturday, March 24 at the Morrisville-Eaton High School auditorium, 5061 Fearon Road. The 2 p.m. concert will feature the 5-6 Grade Band and the 7-9 Grade Chorus. The 9-12 Orchestra and Chorus will each perform during the 3:15 p.m. concert. Scholarship available to Verona residents
VERONA » Fred “Fritz” Scherz Jr., councilman on the Verona Town Board in Verona, will sponsor the 9th annual Fred Scherz Sr. Memorial Scholarship for Volunteer Community Service. The $250 scholarship will be awarded to a Town of Verona student who is on track to graduate from high school (public or private) or home school by June 30, 2018. Applicants must have lived in the Town of Verona since at least Dec. 1, 2017, and must be voluntarily engaged in community service or must have created a community project that benefits the Town of Verona. Tiny Tots production at KAC
CLINTON » Kirkland Art Center will host the annual production of Tiny Tots with the Mohawk Valley Ballet on Monday, April 16 and Tuesday, April 17. Tiny Tots is a studentled production put on for local kindergarten and pre-school students. This year’s production, “Coppelia,” tells the story of an eccentric toymaker, lifesized dancing dolls, and a young couple in love. Performances will be held at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Monday and 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Each performance lasts approximately 30 minutes. Admission is $3 per person.
