Chicken and biscuits served at VernonUMC

VERNON » Vernon United Methodist Church, Route 5 will hold a chicken and biscuit dinner on Saturday, April 7 from 4-6:30 p.m. The menu will include chicken, homemade biscuits and gravy, mashed potatoes, vegetables, beverages and homemade pie. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 6-12 and free for ages 5 and younger. Take outs will be available; call (315) 829-3535. Ten percent of the proceeds will benefit a mission.

Swing into Spring brunch set for April 7

CANASTOTA » The United Church of Canastota, 144 Center St., is hosting a Swing into Spring Buffet Brunch on Saturday, April 7 from 8 a.m. to noon. The menu includes ham, bacon, French toast, hash brown casserole, scrambled eggs, pasta with meat sauce, tossed salad, green beans, copper carrots, fruited gelatin, muffins and beverages for $8 per person. Ten percent of the proceeds will support the missions of the church, including Loaves & Fishes Hospitalit­y Center, Nicaragua Medical Mission, Heifer Internatio­nal and the United Methodist Committee on Relief.

ONEIDA » Catholic Daughters Court Our Lady 1250 will hold its annual Communion Breakfast on Saturday, April 14. Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, followed by a buffet breakfast at Ebeneezer’s Cafe in Sherrill. Members are encouraged to bring friends, especially anyone interested in becoming a member of the court. A brief business meeting will follow the festivitie­s. Reservatio­n deadline is Friday, April 6. Send checks payable to Court Our Lady #1250 to Marie Dixon, 7249 Vienna Road, Blossvale, N.Y. 13308. The price is $22 per person. The awards presentati­on for winners of the court’s education contest is reschedule­d to Thursday, April 19 in the Holy Family Parish Center.
