Mount Markham High School senior Anna Culver, who interns at the Kirkland Art Center through the Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES’ Regional Program for Excellence, is curating a pop- up show celebratin­g student activism.

The exhibit is designed to support aspiring local artists and hear their voices. Artwork should represent student’s stories that have been affected by social movements or how students have been inf luenced to stand up and speak in support of the #Neveragain, #Enough, #Metoo, and other movements.

Students must be attending middle school, high school or college classes. Two and threedimen­sional artwork will be accepted: drawings, paintings, sculptures, printmakin­g, photograph­y and poetry. Participan­ts are encouraged to attend the opening to talk about their art or perform their written works.

To enter artwork for this juried show or for more informatio­n, visit www.kacny.org/call-forentries. There is no submission fee and the deadline is May 9. The pop-up show will run from May 15-22. A closing reception will be held at the Kirkland Art Center on May 22 from 4- 6 p.m.
