REMSEN, N.Y. » The Remsen Performing and Visual Arts Center will open the 2018 seasonwith­a three daymusical event weekend.

The festival will feature Cathie Timian and Company on Friday, May 4 at 7:30 p.m., Harmony Katz on Saturday, May 5 at 7 p.m., and The New Generation­s Choir and the Remsen Community Band on Sunday, May 6 at 5 p.m.

Canadian-born vocalist Cathie Timian has been pleasing audiences for several years, exploring a variety of genres including Jazz, blues, and Americana, and has performed with several local performing artists.

The Harmony Katz, Syracuse’s own barbershop chorus, is comprised of more than 50 men from all walks of life who love to sing. They believe singing enriches lives and offer awide variety of songs from 1890 through 1990, including ballads, barbershop, Beatles, Broadway, and Disney. Their goal for each performanc­e is to “sing memories to life.”

The New Generation­s Choir and Remsen Performing and Visual Arts Center Community Band will perform a number of favorite tunes. This is their fourth annual concert.

General admission is $10 on Friday and Saturday, and free on Sunday.
