Shlotzhauer tosses no-hitter in Oneida win

ONEIDA22, PROCTOR0 » Utica teams may want to avoid Kyra Shlotzhauer. A year after nohitting Utica Notre Dame, Shlotzhauer did it again, this time to Utica Proctor in a 22-0 win. In five innings, Oneida’s junior hurler struck out five, did not surrender a hit, and yielded one walk in a dominant performance. The defense behind Shlotzhauer was solid with no errors, and Oneida’s offense tagged Proctor pitching for 16 hits. Lauren Skibitski went 4-of-5 from the plate with a triple and three RBI, Brianna Laureti added three hits and a pair of RBI, and Sydney Lusher drove in four runs, going 2-for-5 with a double.
CHITTENANGO 17, HANNIBAL 1 » Chittenango clobbered Hannibal 17-1 on Tuesday behind a standout performance from Cassidy Kelly. Kelly crushed two homers and a triple to plate three runs in support of her own cause from the circle where she tossed a one-hitter with 14 strikeouts. Kelly was not alone in the long ball action on Tuesday. Teammate Jada Masiclat belted a grand slam to help power the Bear’s offense.
