Cottage Lawn Farmers Market opens June 5
The fourth annual Cottage Lawn Farmers Market at the Madison County Historical Society kicks off June 5.
Every Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. through Sept. 4, the market will offer familiar products and programs.
“Over the last three years, our market has received a lot of rave reviews for the themed activities and programs that we’ve had that focus on family, nutrition and recreation,” said Sydney Loftus, executive director of the Madison County Historical Society. “That’s what we’re continuing to do for our fourth year.”
The market will feature fresh, local products ranging from cheeses, eggs, herbs and spices, soaps, sweets, meats and more. Vendors from around New York show up for the market, including Stone Brother’s Farm and Greenhouse, Slate Creek Farms, 7 Trees Dairy Goats, Wincrest Bulk Foods, Thousand Islands Winery and others.
With each week of the Cottage Lawn Farmers Market, an activity is planned for both adults and kids to participate in. Among activities planned, Loftus said The Oneida YMCA is joining in to offer free yoga classes.
“In addition to our farmers market with the farmers we have offering local, seasonal produce and crafts, we hope to have these other activities going on,” Loftus said. “It will definitely be a wonderful atmosphere for families to come in and enjoy their Tuesday with us.”
