Trump the most indecent

Ana Navarro, a political commentator who always voted Republican until Trump was the nominee, summed up the uproar over Sarah Sanders’ smoky eye shadow perfectly: How come a comedienne, Navarro wondered, is held to a higher standard for what she said on one night than is Donald Trump for what he has said since he was inaugurated?

He insults regularly. He never apologizes. He routinely tells lies that can be refuted by indisputable evidence. To which I add: Michelle Wolf’s saying that Sarah Sanders’s smoky eye shadow comes from the ashes of lies she’s told as Trump’s mouthpiece is not beyond decency; it is what Sanders does, and therefore deserving of being fodder for a roast.

Wolf was also insulted: Sanders remained seated while everyone else on the dais stood when award recipients received their awards. I am insulted every time I watch Sanders treat the press as if they were children she needed to educate.

Trump can dish it out but he can’t take it; he has skipped this event twice. Obama was often caught on camera laughing when comedians made fun of him. He would then stand and gave it right back with the skill of a professional. Trump instead sent Sanders to represent him while he played to his base in Washington county, Mich.

Insulting a gold star family, a disabled person, John McCain’s service--now that’s indecent. And out of the mouth of a draft dodger it is indecency on steroids.

This may all seem fleeting and minor, but freedom of the press is the bedrock of our democracy. Trump’s attack on that bedrock is doing what dictators do. It is one of the worst aspects of a presidency that will go down in history for its sheer awfulness.

Speeding motorists make road unsafe

I have lived on the corner of Genesee Street and Hubbard Place for 25 years. During that time, I have seen the once quiet back road become a raging speedway. Signs indicating the speed limit as 30mph are posted all the way down the road. None of them are obstructed by trees. So why is it that cars are consistently driving down this road at 40-50 miles per hour? We used to be able to walk down the road with our dogs, now we are in fear of our life because of the speeding. I have even gone as far as to tell people to slow down as they zoom up the road.

Chittenango has Tuscarora Road that has signage that states “30 mph strictly enforced”, and police are posted at various times during the day. As a taxpayer, my family deserves the right to be able to safely walk down the road and not fear for their lives. Someone should look into this.

Thank you.

NASA’s Mars mission questionable

Why is NASA spending $1 billion to send the InSight spacecraft to Mars? The science, alone, is not worth the expense.

On May 5, NASA launched the InSight spacecraft from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. This base specializes in launching military satellites into space.

On Feb. 8, 1972, Mariner 9 imaged the Elysium Plains of Mars. These images show four massive one kilometer tall (over 3,000 feet) evenly spaced four- sided pyramids. This find was discussed in the magazine ICARUS in 1974. Why is the InSight spacecraft returning to the Elysium Plains?

At Mars, the InSight will perform a geological dig 16 feet below the surface. It will also place very sensitive high tech sensors on the surface to study the interior of the planet and to study Mars quakes. The data collected will make it possible for NASA to construct a 3Dmap of the interior of Mars. Again, why?!

For 50 years NASA has sent various spacecraft to Mars. It has plenty of photographs and scientific data. Why is this mission necessary?

The answer can only be that NASA knows more than it is telling the public. Since Mariner 9 imaged pyramids, we must conclude that NASA is exploring an extinct civilization on Mars.
