VVS community made garagesaleasuccess

The 24th Annual VVS Education Foundation Garage and Pie Sale held on April 28 was outstanding. We had our best sale ever. The support fromthe community was overwhelming. So many people donated items, baked pies, bought raffle tickets, gave donations, and came to shop.

The Garage Sale Committee wants to thank all those who so generously donated items. We also want to thank Steve Long and Sara Getman, along with the City of Sherrill, for supporting the work that we do. We again want to thank Bob Haldenwang and his crew for helping us after the sale.

Our raffle was very successful and we want to thank the local merchants for their extreme generosity. We encourage everyone who supports us to support them also. We would like to thank the following: Darla’s Place, Apple Betty’s, Black Stallion Restaurant, and Nothin’ Fancy in Vernon; Swistak Farm and Nicky Doodles in Verona; “Herb” Philipsons’s in Oneida and Ebeneezer’s Cafe, Joe’s Jerky, Greenhouse Brew, Lynn P. Jones, Laura Diddle, Tops Market, Taste of China, Corner Diner, and New York Pizzeria in Sherrill.

A great deal of work goes into this sale. As chairperson, I would like to thank the following people for all they do to ensure the sale runs smoothly: Fred and Laura Diddle, John and Peg Paluck, Sis Merrill, Barb Myers, Ann and Bruce Wright, Linda Lowry, Sue and Steve McPherson, John and Carol Wight, Kathy Woodbury, Chris Regner, Jen and Natalie Herzog, Steve Long, Heleene and Ann Brewer, Ann Thoma, Andrea, Natalie, and Keaton Narrow, Ken Oaksford, Sara Getman, Dave Hill, Mary Kay Junglen, Sharon and Pam Davis, Mollie Foster, Joanne Makarchuk, Joanne Scanlon, DonnaWiley, Barb Kinsella, Paul Miller, Sue LaManque, Tom Lewin, Chris Marshall, Kip and Jody Hicks, Donna Robinson, Cindy Swistak, Maria Seely, Rosamond Bennati, Holly Foster, and Scott Swayze. I also want to thank the students that worked: Jarrett Herzog, Nate Woodbury, and Peter and Jack Makarchuk. (If I have forgotten anyone, I apologize.) Everyone deserves a thank you.

These people mentioned above make up an amazing group who work extremely hard to make our sale a successful event.

Again, we thank everyone for participating in our sale. This sale would not be possible without the community support we receive.

We hope to see all of you again next year. served high school populations in their preparation for college.
