1. Defending champ
Oddly Cup last year's Series enough, Coca-Cola wins Austin came 600 Dillon's in crown-jewel and this first season's two events NASCAR — Daytona 500. Now it is time to defend his Charlotte title. “I'm really pumped about the 600,” said Dillon, who won on one of them “fuel-mileage deals” in 2017. “If fuel mileage is the way we do it, we will do it that way again, it doesn't matter,” he said.
2. Plate debate
Steve tive vice O'Donnell, president who and carries chief racing the title development of execuofficer, made an appearance after the All-Star Race. Apparently, NASCAR hopes to use this same package at some tracks next season. “For us, we've got to take the time, be smart about this, really look at it, see where we can go from here,” he said. “But I think it's fair to say that this is something we absolutely want to look at.”
3. No. 47 sparked?
AJ Allmendinger won the NASCAR Cup Series race that everyone soon forgets about — the Monster Energy Open. The victory got
Allmendinger into the spotlight All-Star Race, but may have also sparked up the No. 47 Chevrolet team and driver. “The first stage was pretty awesome to go 18th to fourth in a couple of laps,” Allmendinger said of All-Star Segment 1. “Really competitive and proud of the guys.”
